Revelations on NBC

Looks like NBC will be running a 6 week limited run series (which might be picked up if ratings are good) called "Revelations".

Revelations on NBC

You're darn right I'll be checking it out!

I'm happy that it's on at 9; I won't have to record it. If it were on at 8 I'd be watching "Lost"! (Although tonight's "Lost" is a rerun AGAIN. What is it with network scheduling now-a-days, used to be you didn't get re-runs till holidays and summer hiatus. Greedy networks!)

I considered watching Revelations because TWoP is going to recap it, but then I decided not to.

I didn't realize it is a limited-run series, though. That actually makes it more tempting. Does it start tonight?!

Oh, and there have always been reruns during non-sweeps periods, at least in my lifetime. I don't know about way back in the I Love Lucy days!!

I guess they have always been there...it just feels like it's way more now-a-days....

Yes it starts tonight...

I'm just afraid of where they're gonna go with it.

If it's too "religious" it'll be lousy because it'll be they're version of what "religion" is.

If it's nothing like the Revelations of the Bible, one or two things might happen:

If the writing/acting is bad, People will dismiss as yet another one of Hollywood's attempt to make money without researching the subject in an attempt to "get on the band-wagon"

or

If the writing/acting is good people will watch it and file it under yet another one of Hollywood's attempt to make money without researching the subject in an attempt to "get on the band-wagon" but who cares because it's good tv.

If it's got a good balance I think it'll be compelling. It'll be fun to watch to see what *they* think Revelations is all about.

Watched it.

...not impressed so far...Hollywood hooey that has a bit of way to go to be compelling in my opinion.

Well perhaps the following weeks will redeem it. But I doubt it.

seriously, the reruns of LOST are killing me. next week is a rerun, too. don't they know i plan my life around this show?

There are two new shows I watch faithfully: "Lost" and the new "Battlestar Galactica" on Sci Fi.

"Lost" is killing me too with all the reruns and "Battlestar" has had it's season finale already for crying out loud!

(btw, Edward James Olmos as Adama on "Battlestar Galactica" is a sweet bit of casting. That quiet strength just does something for me. If you can catch the reruns, do it!)

OH and I was hoping Boone would be the one they kill off on "Lost" although I also suspected the hobbit might be the one, because afterall he is a movie star. hee hee.

Just didn't care much for the character of Boone.

Think they'll kill anybody else off?

I lived in S. Korea, but I got to travel to Cambodia, Viet Nam, Thailand, & Japan while I was there.

I also have been to several other countries. There for awhile it was hard to keep my feet on the ground!

From the reviews I read, it does not resemble Revelation in the Bible in the least. Some Christians think 'any' media attention to Christianity is good. I don't; I think accuracy is important. As a good 'fantasy' show, it might not be bad.

I don't mind if it's not Biblical if it's done well, I just write it off as "deh well, they don't know what they're talking about, but man was that good!".

IF it's accurate AND done well wow, that's mind blowing...like "The Passion" was for me.

From what I saw of Revelations it just wasn't that good and so far not that accurate. I don't believe God would strike down a little girl down with lightening so he could talk through her in Latin. It's not in His character. Besides that the Nun likened it to something people somewhere in Tibet do so that the dead can speak through young girls. (At least I think it was Tibet.... WHATever.)

The acting was ok as far as I could tell.

But the plot line just didn't hook me...
